Apparently, it is evident that people must always consider the consequences their words or actions may bring to other people. In that case, they will avoid hurting others. However, it may also be considered that the reason why that particular person, who gave a harmful remark, is also because of what the other persons has done to him or her. Yet, it shouldnt be a reason to act or speak such thing because we must also consider that we must be capable of having enough self-control because controlling oneself, is another idea that the verse wanted to imply.
It is then applicable to say that we all must take into consideration peoples sentiments because causing pain will not bring any good to us, rather we will experince troubles when we cause damages to our fellow men. Moreover, it is true that whatever we have done or said to or about others, it will reflect in us and we will probably get what we deserve. Evidently, the verse wanted us to realize something very essential in nature. It is written for us to be aware about dealing with others. And we, as sentient beings, must inculcate not only to ourselves but to other people as well what the writer of the Proverb 27:14 has imparted to us.
