In this essay ,I will going to give out example of Malaysian public participate in the political process ,activities of Malaysian public can take place and talk about the passive participation and its example . I also will give my opinion to Malaysian public participate in the political process. As a Malaysian, once we reach 21 years old,we have to vote for our country to choose our next prime minister. Lets take Malaysian General Election 2013 (GE -13) as a example. The GE-13 is the most intense election.
When near to the election day, the political leader from the Barisan Nasional (BN) which is Najib Razak ,Pakatan Rakyat (SPR) which is Anwar Ibrahim will give their talks and campaign will be held in many places. The Malaysia citizen will attend to those actives example like talks and the gathering for the political leader they support . For a Malaysia citizen, they got the rights to attend those activities ,example like the gathering for PKR at Segamat,JOHOR, Crowd at PKRs Segamat Talks swells to 20,000 ,the date is 24th April 2013 (http://www. malaysiakini. com/news/227842).
Everyone can be the elector if they are over 21 years old and they are Malaysian. Even is OKU Malaysia also got the rights to vote. They also participate in election even they have problem of ability to walk. The Some of the elector are active participation and some of them are passive participation. For the citizen who attend to the gathering activities are active participation because they can choose to stay at home or other place but they choose to attend the gathering, this is because they care for the future of Malaysia, they want reformation , but reformation need time .
After the election,Barisan Nasional selected to represent citizen in gorvement as a Malaysias predominant political party . Najib Razak selected to be the prime minister of next five year, thats mean the Barisan Nasional have win the Malaysian General Election for 2013. A lot of activities is coming with the result. Example like 505 blackout and a slogan came out the darkness day for Malaysia most of the people change their facebook profile picture to black and wear black after 5thMay 2013, those people are active participation for this activities .
At 9thMay 2013,venue is Stadium MBPJ,Kelana Jaya ,about 50,000 of people dressed black trying to get in for a rally for free and fair elections organised. This is the beginning of a battle between the citizen and an illegitimate, corrupt, and arrogant government, the PKR leader told the crowd. This day no Malay,no Chinese and no indian, but we call it Malaysian. I am Malay, but I support Pakatan Rakyat. The earlier PKR director of strategy Rafizi Ramli say. This people are dressed black and they phrases such as We Want Bersih (clean) and No To Racism.
One, translated from Mandarin, read: We Are One Family. some of the phrases are likely like our body flowing same colour of blood. Information from (http://anwaribrahimblog. com/2013/05/09/thousands-pack-kelana-jaya-stadium-for-pakatan-rally/). Since 23th November 2006,a non-governmental organisation (NGO) have been form. The name of the organisation is Berish, the Co-chairperson of the organisation is Dato Ambiga Sreenevasan and Dato A. Samad Said. At 10th November 2007,there are activities call street walk also name as Walk for Democracy(Berish 2. 0) in charge by Ambiga Sreenevasan, about 30,000 to 50,000 people are [active participation] in this activities . But this Berish 2. 0 was broken up by police using tear gas and chemical-laced water cannons. Former prime minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said he was willing to sacrifice public freedoms in the interest of national stability and order to arrest people who walk on the street and dresses yellow shirt.
